back to top@alxlg Their roadmap implies closed source components and the current release uses libraries and components with security issues. I have been asking for an alternative that is also free software.

Why do you think so?
About security, they paused the releases to focus on feat/db branch. You can build and use that. Many security issues don't apply to Logseq as a desktop/mobile app. Logseq in general is in beta, so there isn't a real officially supported release.
@alxlg it is in their FAQ for Logseq Pro. Also this whole discussion is beside my original question.
Logseq Pro will be a paid plan for online services like Sync. In the FAQ you mentioned it is clearly written that all local features will always be FOSS even when paid with Logseq Pro.
Free Software (as per FSF definition) and Open Source (as per OSI definition) have never been about free as in free beer. FOSS can be paid.
So please use another term if you don't like these, that were introduced and defined by FSF and OSI.
@alxlg I have asked for an alternative to logseq, you do not seem to have an answer to that question. Please stop lecturing me about things I did not ask for.
With your question there was also this false claim:
> they seem to go down a half closed source model...
Are you really surprised that someone could reply to correct the mistake?
There are alternatives to Logseq (but nothing with the same features) including FOSS ones like SiYuan and Affine but these ones in particular already have the "Pro" version. I don't think there is anything near Logseq when it comes to features/openess ratio.
@ckeen I have not tried it personally, but you can check out silverbullet.md
